CAMPING

Troop 1 tries to spend two nights a month under the stars, in a tent, hammock, quinzhee, or cabin. We have camped at Northern Star Council camps, at Minnesota and Wisconsin state parks, and National Forest Service primitive camps; we're always looking for great places to camp and explore!

Register for upcoming camps by clicking the brown buttons below

(To be determined by PLC at 02/12 meeting)

May 17-19  •  Northern Star Spring Camporee at Stearns Scout Camp

• COST • Camp Registration $20 for food / $25 early registration - $35 late registration (estimated cost)

• MENU • Scouts will plan meals and cook as patrols

Summer 2024  •  Boundary Waters: Week-long canoe trip, open to ALL scouts in Troop 1. We'll discuss details in upcoming meetings, but we need to lock in our interest quickly to obtain a permit. We need both scouts AND adult leaders to register if we are to make this trip happen. This form is registering your interest only, we'll need more information and verification of your intent to participate once we have our crews and dates confirmed.

Register Interest Here (Crew A full, Crew B needs 1 adult + up to 3 scouts)

Summer 2025  •  Philmont Scout Ranch: Backpacking trek at Philmont Scout Ranch, perhaps the "gold standard" of Scouts BSA high adventure. Because this is a national BSA High Adventure base, Philmont has age restrictions. Philmont can include 7, 9, or 12-day treks in New Mexico wilderness. Scouts must be at least 13 years old and have graduated 8th grade by June 1, 2025 to participate. As with Boundary, we need both scouts AND adult leaders to register if we are to make this trip happen. Treks are assigned by lottery, so we want our crews signed up ASAP.

Registration closed - Crew is full. Contact Dr. Nixon if any questions.
